The Lodge is a residential care home located in Berkshire, providing support for up to five adults with learning and physical disabilities, mental health needs, cerebral palsy and challenging behaviour.

The Lodge is a fun and active home, where there is always something going on. The people we support enjoy getting out and about at every opportunity.

Facilities

Our home is an extended gate house and has five bedrooms plus a shared lounge, newly fitted kitchen and dining area. We also have wet rooms and hoists fitted making our home accessible for those with mobility needs. Everyone living at The Lodge is encouraged to take part with daily tasks to look after their home, such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.

The team

Our experienced team provide person-centred care and support, ensuring plans are built around the needs of each individual. We provide ongoing training for our team, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to help the people we support achieve their aspirations and goals. We also have a key worker system in place which helps the people we support to build trusting relationships with our team members.

The Lodge is located in a residential area on the outskirts of Warfield, within walking distance of Bracknell town centre. Bracknell offers a range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and multi-complex leisure centres. Bracknell also has good transport links with easy access to the M3 and M4 motorway, and a railway station running regular services to Reading and London.

Community involvement is very much encouraged at our home. The people we support have a strong community presence and love to build new friendships outside their home.

We often head out for a pub lunch, take part in advocacy groups and take trips to the local cinema, bingo hall, bowling alley and sports centre.

About Ann

I have worked for Voyage Care for 10 years and started in 2014. However, my career started in care 36 years ago as night Support Worker and I have since progress up the ranks to becoming a Registered Manager which I have been for 20 years now.

I have completed my NVQ level 5, Registered Managers award, Leadership and Management level 5,6 and A1 assessors award.

I love helping the people we support to develop/retain their daily living skills so they can live fulfilled lives. Being their advocate, so they can be seen and heard. My best friend youngest child was born with disabilities so helping her through this process, getting her the right help, was very important to me.

My daily responsibilities include, keeping up with all the paperwork, changing legislation, meeting audit requirements, meeting all the regulations for CQC, keeping the whole team motivated and happy so they can deliver great quality care and support to individuals in their own home.

Seeing the people we support with a smile on their faces, gives me the biggest sense of achievement. To help mentor/coach team members to develop their future in care, passing on some of my experience and knowledge!

About Ayesha

Ayesha joined Voyage Care in May 2015. She trained as a learning disability nurse and has worked within the social care sector since 1990 covering a wide range of children's and adults’ services. Ayesha has held a number of senior appointments and immediately prior to joining Voyage Care held the post of Director of Operations for one of the largest domiciliary care providers in England and Wales. Ayesha has first-hand experience of care pathways and the journey through step-down services, as a parent of a child with complex needs.
