The Bungalow provides a relaxed, homely environment, offering high quality care and support to seven individuals with a profound learning disability, physical disability, sensory impairment and complex health issues.
Supporting you
We believe the people who live at The Bungalow should be at the centre of everything we do – ensuring their lives are varied, fun and meaningful is the key to success. Any achievement is celebrated, no matter how small it may seem, and we aim to give everyone new experiences.
Although the people we support cannot communicate their wishes verbally, our team works closely with each individual to find out what interests them and ensure that these things are present in the service.
Facilities
The service is a detached bungalow with seven bedrooms, all of which have ensuite facilities. The home has been adapted and equipped to meet the needs of people who have a physical disability, providing large communal areas as well as both tracking and mobile hoisting facilities.
We have a purpose-built sensory room, conservatory and a large, well maintained gardens, which feature a patio area, water feature and raised height sand pit to the side of the property and a herb garden and apple trees to the rear of the property. We have also installed raised beds with great success – the people who live here have been involved at every stage, and are now enjoying their very own home grown produce.
The team
Our staff are dynamic and enthusiastic, and promote person-centred support for all. They are keen to share their personal interests, such as gardening, arts, crafts and cooking, with the people who live at The Bungalow and other staff in order to enhance each person’s quality of life.
All staff receive specialist training, both within the home and externally to enable them to support those with complex and life limiting conditions to remain in their own home.
