At St Philips Close we provide physical and emotional support to eight adults with a diverse range of learning and physical disabilities. The majority of the people at our home are aged between 25 and 74.
Supporting you
The staffing ratio allows us to provide full, appropriate and responsible care and support. This includes enabling the people we support to access local services and supporting them to achieve person centred goals and aspirations. Each person’s privacy, rights, choice, dignity and inclusion are of utmost importance to the staff, as is working in a person-centred manner.
Everyone who lives here is provided with the full opportunity to be involved in creative and diverse activities. These include swimming, dancing and trips to local places of interest, museums and cinemas. There is also the option of attending college, day services and local clubs.
You can choose to be involved in cooking, baking, massage, manicures, games and developing their living skills. We pride ourselves on open and transparent communication with all friends, family members and multi-disciplinary professionals who are involved in your health and wellbeing.
All aspects of care, including administration of medication, general health and physical, social and emotional needs, are fully discussed, seeking the advice and guidance of appropriate health professionals as required. We encourage each person to be fully involved in producing their own care plan, putting them at the forefront of all decision making. Families, advocates and care managers are also consulted prior to decisions being made. Our open door policy encourages family and advocates to visit our home at any time, while always keeping in mind the need to promote comfort and privacy for all who live here.
We can also support individuals on visits to their family homes. We hold monthly house meetings and menu planning meetings so that everyone can be involved in how their home is run.
Facilities
St Philips is comprised of two purpose-built bungalows, set within their own communal gardens, which are secured by a wall and shrubbery. Each bungalow has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, both of which are fully adapted to meet each individual’s needs. All areas are furnished to a high standard, creating a friendly and welcoming environment and the service is accessible for wheelchair users.
