St Helens Down is a lovely residential care home in Hastings, supporting up to six individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dual diagnosis.
Facilities
Our home has six bedrooms, three with en-suite bathrooms and three with access to a shared wet room and bathroom. Our open plan home is all on one level, making it fully accessible throughout, ideal for those with mobility needs.
We have large, decked area in our garden, which is set amongst a surrounding woodland and attracts an impressive assortment of wildlife all year round! We also have a raised vegetable patch and herb garden!
Supporting you
The people we support are encouraged to develop their independent living skills to maintain a happy, healthy life. They are supported to engage in personalised meaningful schedules, that includes in-house activities such as art & crafts and baking, as well as activities outside the service. We offer person-centred care with choices offered daily, ensuring the decisions of the people we support are always respected.
We adapt our support to suit individuals’ needs and strive for positive outcomes for the people we support, whether that’s a personal goal, an achievement, or a health-related outcome. Our dedicated team support and empower individuals to live their best life. Our team also have strong relationships with local professionals, advocating for the people we support. This has resulted in many positive outcomes, including reducing medication, challenging behaviours, and helping them to be happier, more engaging individuals!
