Red Gables is a residential care home located in the heart of Somerset. We provide 24-hour care and support for up to 11 individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and other associated complex needs.

Supporting you

Our team passionately promote independence, social inclusion and empower the development of the people we support, so they can live the lives they choose!

We encourage the people we support to enjoy activities, such as trampolining, atmospherics, bowling, discos, swimming, and cinema trips. Immersed in a close-knit community, we foster a sense of belonging by supporting our housemates to attend the local church.

Facilities

Our spacious home has 11 bedrooms along with plenty of communal areas, including two separate lounges, a kitchen, a large dining room, conservatory, sensory area and a small annexe.

We also have two in-house accessible vehicles – helping keep the people we support stay active in the local community and pursue adventures further afield!

Surrounded by scenic Somerset countryside, our beautiful home is in an ideal location for accessing nearby beaches and many other local amenities in Berrow, Brean and Burnham on Sea. Conveniently situated next to a public bus route, we have easy access to the town centre and other areas of the community.

About Jackie

Jackie joined Voyage Care in 2014 as an Operations Manager before moving to the Service Optimisation team in 2016, providing support to our operational teams. Jackie is a Learning Disability nurse with over 25 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, where she has worked in a variety of senior management roles. Jackie moved into the role of Operations Director supporting our services in the South West before taking on her current role of Managing Director in spring 2024.

Jackie said, “I have always been passionate about supporting positive change for all, ensuring everyone is supported to the best of our ability, to achieve their aspirations. Voyage Care’s vision enables me to be innovative and strive for these goals whilst driving our purpose for delivering great quality care.

“Good social care is delivered by passionate staff who put the individual at the heart of everything they do. We coach our teams to be able to support choice and promote independence, ensuring we empower everyone we support.”
