Supporting you

Old Ford End Road is a purpose built home where we support six individuals with a learning disability and physical disabilities. We tailor each individual’s care plan to help with communication, using a range of tools and systems.

We encourage each person to make the most of local facilities and to be involved in a range of activities which fit their interests. Some of the diverse activities people currently enjoy are trampolining, hydrotherapy and attending local colleges.

Facilities

The shared areas of the home are very spacious, allowing socialisation, space to spend time alone or take part in various activities. These include a large lounge and a fully equipped multi-sensory room.

The high level of staffing within the service allows people to become actively involved in the daily running of the home. The kitchen has been carefully designed and includes low level work tops to enable everyone help prepare meals.

The service is surrounded by landscaped gardens which are fully accessible to wheelchair users and offer everyone the opportunity to participate in outdoor games and activities, as well as just sit and relax.

The home is ten minutes from Bedford Town Centre, where there are many opportunities for education and recreation. There are great transport links nearby, with a bus stop right over the road! There is also a park only a few minutes down the road, perfect for long walks and picnics in the summer.
