Lower St Helens is a residential care home in Hedge End, Southampton. We provide high-quality support for four people with autism, challenging behaviour, diabetes and learning disabilities.
Facilities
Our four-bedroom home offers relaxing spaces including communal areas such as a large lounge with a dining area and a separate kitchen with a breakfast bar. Plus, there’s a sensory garden with outdoor seating.
We also have two shared bathrooms on the first floor and a ground floor shower room with a shower chair for those with accessibility needs.
Supporting you
We are the sector leading provider with over 35 years’ experience in successfully supporting people across the UK with learning and physical disabilities, autism and complex needs.
We offer more than somewhere to live – this is somewhere for you to make your home. We work with you to find out your goals and how you prefer to communicate, so we can provide the right support for you. As part of our support, we offer Makaton as an enhanced communication method and staff are trained to support individual needs. We also promote person-centred planning tools in everything we do, giving everyone as much choice as possible.
We offer opportunities for you to learn new skills, become more independent and try new experiences. We provide a full itinerary of in-house activities, such as craft sessions, health and beauty and sensory sessions. Our team also encourage the people we support to become active members of the community. This can include going to the cinema or coffee outings, day trips like going bowling, enjoying arts and crafts, pottery sessions or music groups and participating in leisurely walks.
