Kenton House is a warm and welcoming nursing care home in Headley Down, providing 24-hour nursing care for up to 16 people with learning and physical disabilities, additional complex needs, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, and sensory impairments.
Supporting you
At Kenton House, we encourage the people we support to enjoy a range of activities at home and in the local community, empowering them to build confidence and grow their independence. We engage in a variety of wellbeing and therapeutic activities, including visiting our local day centre, The Grange, for hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
We have strong community links, with professionals visiting our home once a week to do activities with the people we support. We currently welcome professionals to support activities such as art therapy, music therapy, and holistic therapies, like Indian Head Massage. The people we support can also access another day centre and a variety of activity centres in the local area. We often enjoy a trip to the QE2 in Southampton, where our housemates have fun sailing!
We also have an activities co-ordinator on-site who supports with planning trips and personalised holidays!
Facilities
Our home is a large, detached house set in its own grounds, offering 16 large bedrooms – three of which have en-suite facilities. Each person we support is encouraged to personalise their bedroom to suit their tastes and make it their own personal haven!
We also have two shared bathrooms on the ground floor and four shower rooms on the first floor – all with overhead hoist facilities. Built with accessibility in mind, the first floor can be accessed using our lifts.
We have lots of communal areas throughout the home, including three large lounges with dining areas, a kitchen, and a spacious garden – we love to host parties and barbecues in the sunshine!
