Supporting you
At the Oaks we offer support for five individuals with a moderate learning disability and physical disability, promoting independence and building life skills.
Squirrel Park is a secure and supportive environment for seven people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
We also promote activities that raise individuals’ presence in the community, creating a sense of belonging. We have five vehicles (three that will transport wheelchairs) available to transport our residents and the home is extremely close to a bus stop.
At the moment we support three gentlemen that access public transport to visit Taunton independently.
The resident meetings are held at least monthly and more frequently if required. The committee is also involved in staff recruitment, attending interviews and filling in questionnaires using total communication symbols to express their opinions.
We host or access a wide programme of activities, including sailing, horse riding, Reiki massage, intensive interaction, music and art therapy, weekly attendance at a music studio, bowling, gardening and looking after our pets.
We have a very active resident committee, who discuss a varied range of topics, such as menus and planning parties and other entertainment.
