Supporting You

Located in Ardwick, Manchester, Devonshire House is a purpose-built 24-bed service split into three distinct wings. Each wing of the service has its own purpose, designed to support people across each stage of their rehabilitation journey.

Facilities

Devonshire House has lots of amenities, including a fully equipped gymnasium, communal spaces, sensory garden and domestic laundry room to promote independent living skills. There are also many dining room spaces, therapy rooms, two training kitchens and much more.

We have eight active rehabilitation rooms, providing slow stream rehabilitation with an aim of returning individuals to the community. We also have eight rooms for those who need ongoing, continuous care. These rooms are all conveniently located on the ground floor and are spacious for wheelchair access. Four of our ground floor bedrooms are also fitted with a ceiling track hoist for additional accessibility needs.

Our service also has eight self-contained flats on the ground floor. These flats offer greater independence and are perfect for those looking to take the next step on their rehabilitation journey. Designed in a contemporary style, each flat has a wet room, bedroom and kitchenette. Our flats have a separate entrance from the other wings to encourage independent living.

The team

Our highly trained team have been specifically recruited for this service. They’re fully trained in providing support to people with a brain injury and complex needs.

We’re here to support you to lead the life you want. Our specialist teams use a collaborative process to create a person-centred rehabilitation plan based on individual needs and goals.

As well as providing a full itinerary of in-house activities, such as craft sessions, music therapy or sensory sessions, we also encourage you to become active members of the community. This can include using local shops and cafes on a regular basis, looking for volunteering opportunities and attending courses at local colleges and libraries.
