At Derwent Cottage we provide specialist person-centred support to four people with a learning disability, autism, mental health condition or other complex need.
Supporting you
Support is tailored to each individuals needs, encouraging independence and aims to help the people we support to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
Although the people we support have profound disabilities, we support each individual to be as independent as possible by completing tasks such making drinks, cleaning, shopping and making meals.
We provide support 24 hours a day taking into account an understanding of each person’s preferred communication methods, allowing everyone to have choice and make informed decisions about all aspects of their care.
Our residents are encouraged to experience a range of activities and will be supported in doing this, including things like college courses, accessing local leisure facilities and health clubs, meeting religious needs, and all other aspects of daily living.
We have a good relationship with the local community, getting involved in fundraising and inviting local people to join us for events.
Facilities
