Supporting you

We aim to meet each individual’s needs while supporting them to maximise their potential whilst encouraging personal development.

Each person is encouraged to make positive choices about their life and be involved in the day to day running of the home.

We recognise individual religious, ethnic and social needs and provide appropriate support to maintain and encourage these.

Staff also support our residents to engage with the local community and participate in local events and we have an in-house behaviour therapist who we work closely with to develop specific behaviour support plans if needed.

Facilities

Cosin Lodge is a purpose built bungalow set in its own grounds and is fully adapted for disabled access. We have a dedicated vehicle for individuals to use and a large garden at the rear.

The service is in a quiet residential area and has good wheelchair accessible transport links to local facilities. The service also has a quiet room.

The team

We have a dedicated staff team who work with each individual to encourage their daily living skills, both within the service and in the community, and improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Our staff liaise with external agencies to help understand the people we support’s behaviours and to develop individualised support packages.

Set in the quiet village of Willington in County Durham, our home is close to local amenities and good transport routes. We have a good relationship with people in the local area and make use of the community facilities, including a resource centre, leisure centre, library, theatre and local shops.
