Bridge House is a residential care home located in the picturesque town of Taunton in Somerset. Here, we provide specialist support up to 11 individuals with autism, learning disabilities, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, and mental health needs.

Facilities

Spread across two floors, our home comprises 11 en-suite bedrooms. Seven bedrooms are situated on the ground floor and four on the first floor.

We benefit from a variety of communal spaces, including a lounge, kitchen, sensory room and garden – great for outdoor activities and socialising with housemates!

Supporting you

Our expert team empowers the people we support to be as independent as possible, actively encouraging them to explore the community and gain valuable life skills!

Our person-centred care and support is delivered 24-hours a day to meet the needs of the people we support.

Located in the vibrant town of Taunton, we have a range of amenities conveniently located nearby. Our housemates regularly visit local shops, the cinema and the local bowling alley.

The people we support also enjoy fun community activities and days out, such as swimming and going to the beach!

We have our own mini-bus and house car too, for those wishing to explore further afield.

About Jackie

Jackie joined Voyage Care in 2014 as an Operations Manager before moving to the Service Optimisation team in 2016, providing support to our operational teams. Jackie is a Learning Disability nurse with over 25 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, where she has worked in a variety of senior management roles. Jackie moved into the role of Operations Director supporting our services in the South West before taking on her current role of Managing Director in spring 2024.

Jackie said, “I have always been passionate about supporting positive change for all, ensuring everyone is supported to the best of our ability, to achieve their aspirations. Voyage Care’s vision enables me to be innovative and strive for these goals whilst driving our purpose for delivering great quality care.

“Good social care is delivered by passionate staff who put the individual at the heart of everything they do. We coach our teams to be able to support choice and promote independence, ensuring we empower everyone we support.”

About Gill

I have worked in social care for over 30 years, primarily with adults who have a learning disability. My passion was ignited by my close relationship with a cousin who is learning disabled and spurred me to want to help people to achieve their aspirations.

I initially commenced working in local government as a support worker and steadily progressed to the role of manager which has brought me to work with Voyage Care where I have been for over 7 years.
