Beechwood is a small homely bungalow, which can accommodate up to five individuals with learning disabilities and complex additional needs. The home currently supports individuals with Angelman syndrome, Charge syndrome, autistic spectrum conditions, epilepsy and visual and auditory impairments.
Supporting you
We can provide you with a high level of support and encourage you to be as independent as possible. We can also be by your side if you want to learn new tasks and experiences.
Our residents each have an activity timetable which they compile with their support worker. We review these regularly with new ideas to accommodate changes and achievements.
We support the individuals living at Beechwood to access community based facilities, try new activities and gain new skills. Horse riding, archery, boating and ice skating are just a few examples of activities offered.
The Grove Resource Centre is on site which enables the individuals to become involved in daily activities such as life skills, cookery, communication, various therapies, multi-sensory sessions, gym and trampoline, cycling and using the hydrotherapy pool.
We also have physiotherapists on site to offer support to the individuals at Beechwood. In the home we offer ‘Music for Health’ as a regular activity, which is lively and very much enjoyed by the residents as a group and one to one session.
Facilities
Beechwood is adapted to suit the needs of the individuals living at the home. It is situated within a peaceful area of natural beauty.
