Barley close is a residential care home located in Devon. We offer specialist care and support for up to 10 people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, epilepsy, and other associated complex needs.
Facilities
Located in a semi-rural pocket of Devon, Barley Close is a detached, traditionally styled farmhouse property, echoing the rustic charm Devon is renowned for! Adapted to meet the needs of the people we support, each bedroom is spacious and comfortable, benefitting from en-suite facilities. All our bedrooms located on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible and have ceiling tracking for those with additional mobility needs.
Our home benefits from plenty of communal areas, including a lounge, dining room, kitchen, large garden, sensory room and a conservatory that doubles as a craft room! Overlooking our landscaped gardens, it’s the perfect spot for getting creative! Within our functional garden, we have a dedicated herb patch for those with green fingers, and a large patio area for relaxing and taking in the scenery.
All areas of Barley Close are specially designed to respond to the various needs of the people who live there, while maintaining a warm environment. We benefit from additional features, such as our training kitchen with low level work tops – making getting involved with meal preparation easy for the people we support!

Our specialist support team empowers the people we support to live fulfilled lives and achieve a level of independence that’s right for them. Using person-centred support, we encourage our housemates to set goals and pursue opportunities that are meaningful to them.
