Supporting you
At Towngate East we support eight residents who have severe learning disabilities, autistim, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and other complex needs. We support the residents to take part in the activities they enjoy and gain new skills. They currently enjoy getting involved with tasks such as gardening, cooking and cleaning which results in building independence, as well as taking part in a range of leisure activities.
Facilities
The home is wheelchair accessible and has specialist equipment, such as hoists and adapted bathrooms. The home also boasts a self-contained unit for promoting independence and preparing those in our care for supported living. We also have a large garden with a vegetable patch and fruit trees.
The team
Our staff team are welcoming, very adaptable and work to create a fun and supportive environment. We treat everyone with respect and dignity and believe everyone should be able to express themselves in the way they prefer. We use a wide range of communication aids and programmes and have staff members who are communication coordinators. The people we support are involved in choosing activities, holidays and menus, through one to one meetings or group sessions.
