Ann Burns

I have worked for Voyage Care for 10 years and started in 2014. However, my career started in care 36 years ago as night Support Worker and I have since progress up the ranks to becoming a Registered Manager which I have been for 20 years now.

I have completed my NVQ level 5, Registered Managers award, Leadership and Management level 5,6 and A1 assessors award.

I love helping the people we support to develop/retain their daily living skills so they can live fulfilled lives. Being their advocate, so they can be seen and heard. My best friend youngest child was born with disabilities so helping her through this process, getting her the right help, was very important to me.

My daily responsibilities include, keeping up with all the paperwork, changing legislation, meeting audit requirements, meeting all the regulations for CQC, keeping the whole team motivated and happy so they can deliver great quality care and support to individuals in their own home.

Seeing the people we support with a smile on their faces, gives me the biggest sense of achievement. To help mentor/coach team members to develop their future in care, passing on some of my experience and knowledge!
