The Granary turn 30!
Today marks a very important day for The Granary, one of our Learning Disability services in East Yorkshire as they turn 30!
Service Manager Janet started the day the doors were opened as a Support Worker back in 1990, we caught up with her about how they are going to celebrate in lockdown and her reflections on the past three decades…
‘Voyage Care has given me the opportunity to learn and develop. There have been vast changes as you may imagine in the past 30 years! And although I have always treated people as individuals, the role in care needed to change and has changed in a positive direction.
The Granary is a lovely, welcoming home, the people we support are the forefront of our day, such a social place to work, laughter, fun and at times tears. It is an amazing role, I am as dedicated today as I was 30 years ago.

Service Manager, Janet.
Four of the people we support, Christine, Robert, Mark and John have been living at The Granary since we opened in 1990 so we definitely had lots of reminiscing to do today!’
To celebrate, they had music, dancing and a tasty buffet which everyone really enjoyed. Happy birthday to The Granary!
