New specialist supported living accommodation opened in Falkirk!
We are delighted to announce that Voyage Care have opened a new specialist supported living service in Bo’ness, Falkirk.
We purchased an unused property earlier this year. Work to convert it to eight supported living flats is complete and tenants are already starting to move in. This new service, called Woodlands, will also bring up to 30 jobs to the community.
Supported living schemes like Woodlands are an alternative to residential care homes. They allow vulnerable people to live independently while accessing the care and support they need from trained support workers.
We have invested in the conversion of the vacant care home into eight accessible self-contained flats with communal areas and onsite staff facilities. Each ground-floor flat has been designed to a high standard with accessibility in mind. They feature a double bedroom, modern kitchen diner, wet room, plus individual buzzer entry and the option for further assisted technology. The conversion was project managed by Gleeds, and the contractor was Insite Group.
Paul Brockie, Operations Manager at Voyage Care commented, “After so much hard work, we’re really excited that Woodlands is now open.
“Supported living is the next step for many of the people we support to achieve the life they want to live. Especially for this area, we see a lot of adults who want to increase their independence while still living close to their friends and family. With the high level of demand that we’re seeing, it really is essential accommodation.”
With over 1,000+ supported living properties across the UK, Voyage Care is passionate about empowering each individual to lead an enriching and fulfilling life.
