Leadership update

Delivering great quality care and support

As part of the planned transition to our new senior leadership team we can confirm that Mike McKessar, our incoming Chief Executive Officer, will be joining Voyage Care on 17 June. Mike’s values and ethos are fully aligned to our purpose of delivering great quality care and support for people with complex needs.  Voyage Care continues to maintain its sector leading quality outcomes and, under Mike’s leadership, is well positioned for continued growth, supported by Wren House’s long-term, committed ownership.

We are also pleased to welcome Peter Haspel, who has joined the Voyage Care family as Interim Chief Financial Officer.  From 21 May, Peter has taken up a position on the Voyage Care board.  Peter has extensive experience in financial and commercial roles including as CFO and CEO for multi-site property backed businesses across a range of sectors, including care, and social housing, student accommodation and leisure, both in the UK and Europe. Most recently Peter was Interim CFO at specialist care provider Elysium Healthcare and, prior to that Interim CFO at care home and social housing provider Anchor Hannover Group.

Peter replaces Shaun Parker who, as previously announced, is retiring from his executive role after a long and distinguished career. Shaun has been with Voyage Care for over six years during which time he oversaw a successful bond placement and had a major role in the acquisition of Voyage Care by Wren House in 2021. Shaun has been instrumental in ensuring the robust financial health of the company and will be missed by us all when he leaves in June, but we wish him well in the future.
