Agricola House focuses on mental wellbeing and positivity during lockdown
Adapting to the new normal has…well…become the new normal! The long ranging impact of COVID-19 has affected all of us– not least vulnerable individuals like the people we support. During these uncertain and changeable times, they need even more support to help them understand and adapt to change. Our teams have been working super hard to come up with different ways to create routines and activities that comply with lockdown rules – as well as meet the goals of the people we support.
Let’s take a closer look at Agricola House, a specialist brain injury rehabilitation service. The staff team there have remained positive and really gone above and beyond to help their residents feel safe, secure and in control of their lives.
Positive quotes
One idea the staff at Agricola house had to keep the focus on mental health, was to introduce positive quotes. To their delight, the residents loved the idea and it’s been keeping everyone’s spirits soaring. They now have a board in the kitchen to add daily quotes to motivate the people we support and staff.
Nancy’s quote “A secret to happiness is letting every situation be what it is instead of what you think it should be.”
This is Phil, a person we support with the quote of the day!
They also created a rainbow display that they put positive quotes under. Here’s Sarah, one of the residents, sat underneath it! All staff and people we support have contributed to the positive quotes rainbow to make each other smile during these difficult times.
