National Apprenticeship Week: Andreea’s story

For National Apprenticeship week we talked to Andreea Braboveanu, who completed her apprenticeship with Voyage Care.

Andreea first joined Voyage Care as a support worker and was guided by her manager to apply for the apprenticeship programme.

After some research and speaking to her manager about what she wanted to achieve, she applied for the apprenticeship. When Andreea’s application was approved she was assigned a mentor, Julie. Andreea was thrilled with the pairing, saying “she was wonderful and I couldn’t have had anybody better”.

Andreea enjoyed the different units that she studied during the apprenticeship as she was able to learn new things, gain essential knowledge and get paid. The assessments were a challenge but Andreea worked hard and completed the yearlong apprenticeship and qualified with a Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Diploma L3.

We asked Andreea what she liked about her apprenticeship journey and what advice she’d give to someone thinking about doing it, she said: “The programme was very well organised and offered a choice to do more. I would recommend the course to everyone that works in care, it is always good to learn new things that will help us to provide better care for our service users.”

We have approximately 450 staff on our apprenticeship programme and we’re looking for more!
