At Theoc House we provide specialist care and support for up to 10 people with acquired brain injuries and associated clinical and behavioural needs. Providing holistic support, we work collaboratively with the people we support and their wider support circles to build a bespoke support pathway, tailored to meet their unique needs, goals, and aspirations.

As a Headway accredited home, we focus on evidence-based approaches that support and increase each person’s unique version of independence. Our rehabilitation support pathways are carefully designed to be active and functional, so they can be easily woven into daily routines. Using therapeutic techniques, we support individuals to regain lost skills and develop new ones.

We’ll consistently promote independence and monitor progress using Goal Attainment Scaling. To support individuals to reach their goals, we engage them with targeted therapies, delivered by our expert partner clinicians. We currently offer Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Psychology.

Therapy input is offered based on current needs. We understand these needs will change and evolve along the rehabilitation pathway. So, we ensure sessions and types of therapy are flexible and can be tailored as needs change.

Facilities

Theoc House has seven bedrooms in the main building, as well as two self-contained flats – one with a single bedroom, the other with two bedrooms. Our flats offer the ideal environment for someone looking to progress their independence, with the reassurance of residential support.

All bedrooms in the house have en-suite facilities and the option for ceiling tracking, if required. Our home is fully wheelchair accessible throughout, with a range of accessible features like hoists, adjustable countertops, lifts, and a wet room.

We benefit from a private garden with a patio area, raised beds, a basketball hoop, and a boxing bag to help our housemates stay active and enhance their rehabilitation. We also have a gym and dedicated therapy room to support delivery of therapies at home.

We welcome and encourage family interaction at Theoc House. We enjoy hosting barbecues in the summer and gathering to celebrate special occasions throughout the year.

We’re located in a quiet residential area close to Tewkesbury town centre, which offers plenty of amenities, including a supermarket, retail shops, and a sports centre. In the nearby towns of Cheltenham and Gloucester, there are many educational opportunities and leisure facilities, such as cinemas and bowling.

Within the wider area we can access horse-riding schools and a wildlife park. Vocational opportunities are also available and can be developed at a pace that suits each individual.
